Sustainability is at the Forefront of a New Uptown Apartment Complex

Some of the eco-friendly finishes include a green/living roof and efficient heating/cool systems, which can lead to lower electricity bills; There’s also bike storage and the building’s convenient location along Pittsburgh’s bus rapid transit system, which can take tenants to Downtown and Oakland in less than five minutes.

1709 FIFTH also boasts a small cafe and a small-scale market by Pittsburgh-based roastery Redhawk Cafe.

“We love the character of the neighborhood, and we are excited to be growing within the Uptown community,” says Michael McAllister, McAllister Equities partner and Uptown resident himself. “As we welcome our new residents at 1709 FIFTH, we look forward to sharing all that Uptown has to offer, along with a Redhawk Americano.”

1709 Fifth is Redhawk’s third location. Mary Gonzales, owner of Redhawk says, “We have been looking for an Uptown location for years, so when Michael reached out about working together, we were ecstatic. We are excited to be part of the Uptown community and can’t wait to meet all our new neighbors.”

Units in the building have 8-tall-foot windows, in-unit washers and dryers, Whirlpool stainless-steel appliances and custom lighting. The kitchens have sleek quartz countertops with dual color cabinets; select units also have a kitchen island and terraces that overlook the city.

The condos, which include loft, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units, also have smart tech features, including Amazon-enabled latch entry locks and Amazon-enabled thermostats and entry systems.  Other amenities in the pet-friendly building are a fully equipped gym, a lobby lounge with individual workstations, WiFi and package storage, and more.
